Our Program

At our school, we believe children learn best through meaningful experiences in both indoor and outdoor environments. When kids spend time in nature, they tend to be more active, healthy, and calm. That’s why we offer a mix of classroom and outdoor learning, where children can explore, imagine, and grow. Our spaces inspire creativity, cooperation, and healthy risk-taking, while helping little ones develop important skills—from problem-solving to communication and teamwork.

We offer a 3-day program (9-2), as well as half-day (9-12) option to meet the needs of our families. Our close-knit, mixed-age community (ages 2 to 6) benefits from a low 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio, allowing us to truly focus on each child’s unique developmental stage. Our curriculum blends Montessori-inspired materials, sensory play, and outdoor movement with social-emotional learning. Each week includes fun enrichment activities like nature walks, gardening, art, yoga, and music—supporting the whole child in a joyful and nurturing way.

Admissions Process

Submit an Application plus the $50 fee to secure your spot in our waiting pool. Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee enrollment.
We will contact you if a spot becomes available. If you choose to accept, you must submit Enrollment Forms and Fee within 48 hours to secure the spot.
Schedule a home visit and soft start day for your child prior to your child’s first day of school. Visits typically last approximately 30 minutes.

Parent Tour

We strongly recommend that all prospective parents schedule a parent tour. Hummingbird House is a unique program, and we strive to ensure goodness of fit for both the children and the families in our community. A tour will allow you to meet with the guide(s) and to see firsthand the space, curriculum, and enrollment opportunities available at our school. Visiting will help you determine whether Hummingbird House feels like the best fit for your family and if your child will be happy in the Montessori environment.

Once received, we will contact you to obtain the $50 admissions application fee and secure your spot. (One application per child).
